JANUARY DEPARTMENT AND FACULTY NEWS

Dr. Stephanie Lynn Reyes has been honored with an invitation to serve as a Guest Conductor for the prestigious MidAmerica Productions at Carnegie Hall, June 21, 2026. Dr. Reyes will lead a program featuring To the Hands by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw and Ad Manus Membra Jesu Nostri by Baroque composer Dieterich Buxtehude. This pairing underscores Dr. Reyes’s passion for innovative programming and her expertise in bridging historical and modern choral works.

Dr. Rhonda Taylor’s recent solo album, chaos theory made the Avant Music News Best of 2024 list, published on January 4.  Read more here and learn more about Dr. Taylor’s work and recordings here.

Dr. Yoshiko Arahata performed two works on piano at the NMSU Spring 2025 convocation, held January 14, 2025 at Atkinson Recital Hall.
