Biography

Dr. Madelyn Moore is Assistant Professor of Clarinet at New Mexico State University. Prior to this she held positions at Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX and at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX. She has also taught privately in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and the Chicago area, and has given masterclasses at universities across the United States and in China.
 
Dr. Moore received her Doctorate in Clarinet Performance from the University of Kansas, her Master’s in Clarinet Performance from Northern Illinois University and her Bachelor’s of Music Education from Texas Christian University. 
 
A passionate chamber musician, Dr. Moore has given performances at conferences around the globe. In an effort to expand the repertoire for flute and clarinet alone, she co-founded the Violetta Duo. The Duo has commissioned and premiered several new works and has participated in national and international conferences.
 
Dr. Moore has been published in The Clarinet journal and Carl Fischer Music currently publishes her editions of clarinet works by Heinrich Baermann. Her research on this 19thcentury virtuoso has been presented around the United States, Spain, Belgium and China.
