Dr. Jacob Dalager to Attend the Finals of the Music International Grand Prix

Dr. Jacob Dalager, NMSU's Visiting Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Jazz will be attending the Finals of the Music International Grand Prix at Lincoln Center in New York City this weekend, May 20-21st 2022. Dalager will compete in both the Winds & Brass and Composition divisions. For both, he will perform the second and third movements (II. ɟuture_lost and III. ɟuture.possible) of his first original trumpet concerto, 3ɟutures for Trumpet and Orchestra, a piece depicting three possible outcomes of climate change, with pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen.

In the semi-final round, Dalager placed 1st in the Winds & Brass Division and 2nd in the Composition division. He played Three Miniatures by Anthony Plog for the Prelims and Solus by Stanley Friedman in the Semi-Finals for the Winds & Brass division. And he presented Suite Analogique for Brass Quintet in the Prelims and the first movement (I. ɟutures/pending) of 3ɟutures in the Semi-Finals for the Composition division.
