Holly Pippin

Holly Pippin is completing her PhD in Music Education at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa with an emphasis in world music pedagogy and multicultural education. Ms. Pippin holds degrees in Music Education from Colorado State University and brings 20 years of experience teaching early childhood and elementary general music and choir to the NMSU music department. Most recently she served as adjunct graduate music education faculty at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Ms. Pippin has presented music sessions at the local, state, and national level, and she is an active member in the National Association for Music Education and the Society for Music Teacher Education. Studying at the University of Hawai`i provided valuable opportunities to engage in diverse music and dance ensembles through coursework and cultural immersion, which have guided her research interests in culturally responsive teaching and multicultural education curriculum in teacher preparation. Ms. Pippin is also an active performer in chamber and symphonic choirs and community bands.
