44th Annual NMSU Jazz Festival

New Mexico State University Music Department will be celebrating it's 44th Annual Jazz Festival. The festival is an educationally based event that invites hundreds of young jazz musicians on campus for two days of concerts and clinics. High School and Middle School Jazz Ensembles from throughout New Mexico and the Greater El Paso area particiipate in the festival. Each participating ensemble performs before a panel of Music Educators and is given a workshop immediately following the performance.
The festival concludes with the Festival Concert. This year's concert will feature guest artists Monika Herzig, Tom Fowler and Frank Otero along with the High School division winner and the NMSU Jazz Ensemble. The concert will be presented in the Atkinson Recital Hall in the NMSU Music Building on Friday, April 12th at 7:30 p.m. All events are open to the public and are free of charge.
