Dr. Randi Bolding joins the faculty as Director of Choral Studies

Dr. Randi Bolding has been named the Director of Choral Studies for the Music Department at New Mexico State University.  She will begin her duties at NMSU in August.

She comes to us from the University of Louisville (Kentucky) where she directed the Choral Music Education program, conducted the Singing Cardsmen, and taught graduate and undergraduate Conducting.  She earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Michigan State University, a Master’s in Choral Conducting from the University of Texas, and a doctorate in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University.

She served as the conductor for the Women’s Glee club at Michigan State University.  At the University of Texas, she conducted the Longhorn Singers and directed the Bach Cantata Project, conducting live monthly radio broadcasts of Bach cantatas.

She served as a choral director in Texas public schools for several years, in charge of both middle school and high school programs.  She was also actively involved as Assistant Director and then Artistic Director of the Round Rock Community Choir (Round Rock, TX) for almost 10 years.

We are excited to have her join us this Fall and look forward to the energy and expertise she will add to our Department.  Please help us in welcoming her to our musical community.
