SET UP A SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION WHILE YOU ARE AT SOUTHWEST HONOR BAND
If you are a senior and interested in pursuing music at NMSU, you will have the opportunity to audition in person, for the program and scholarships while you are here. You will be able to sign up for an audition at the first general meeting of SWHB and your audition will be scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2020.
What should I prepare?
You should prepare two contrasting etudes or excerpts. Most of the time all-state audition material is perfectly fine. You may also play prepared solos. The audition will include playing and some discussion about your plans as a music major/minor. Generous performance grants are available to qualified students.
